Administrivia, or Making Sync

So, a few weeks back, [livejournal.com profile] ravenpan mentioned that she can't comment here. This is odd, because I do have her on my openID list...so R, I think that you just need to be logged in properly, or some such.

But that reminded me that this might have value: this entry is unlocked, so if you're having commenting trouble, or anything else, now's your chance.

I've had this problem with several people. It is not always a problem on just their side. They may not be using OpenID, for example. Even though you may have imported friends, it only imports their OpenID -- if they have and use a DreamWidth account, that ALSO has to be granted access. Additionally, granting access and subscribing are two separate actions. You might have them with one permission, but not another.

The way you wrote the post above, it sounded like you were putting all the onus on her to figure out what she's doing wrong. Might want to check your side first.

What I've had to do is determine what account they're using, and then grant access to that account. So there's always something on my side I have to do.
