A very ingenious treatment of the topic, and I like the hints at later history. But I wonder about one technical point: the title "Doctor Professora." German scholars now often are referred to as "Professor Doktor," but the reversal of order doesn't particularly concern me; Barrayar is centuries away and has little direct German influence. But if "Professor" has a gendered form, "Professora," it seems that "Doctor" ought to as well, at least in formal usage: Doctora Professora.
